Financial Literacy

On Tuesday we had Marlon from the ASB GetWise programme come to talk to us about money. We learned about invisible money, looking for good deals in the supermarket, notes and coins, and needs and wants.

Homonyms

Today we continued our learning journey about homonyms. We were focussing on homophones: words that sound the same but are spelt differently and have different meanings. We matched two words and the pictures that go with them.

Cultural Identity

Today Aditha presented and gave a talk to the class about his Duality Poster. He explained how he draws from his Sri Lankan and New Zealand cultures and how some things are different and similar in each country. Great presentation, Aditha!

Dancing

Some of Room 17 students were part of the Y3 &4 dance festival group. They performed for us at a school assembly. The dance was fantastic and showed how hard the students worked to learn a tricky dance.

Mushrooms

Our class was given a mushroom farm to try. It started with a box of soil. We just had to open the box and leave it.

The mushrooms started growing and were soon ready to harvest.

Oops. With the teacher being away for a couple of days the mushrooms grew very large and crowded the box.

Dojo Points

Well done to the Dojo Point Winners:

Tread Lightly

We had a visit from the Tread Lightly Caravan this week. We learned many things about how we can make small changes to our lives to help the environment. Have a look at the photos to see what we did.
Thank you to the parent helpers who came to support this learning.
